This year GLWF took a part in international research project DNAAP coordinated by Aerosol d.o.o. from Ljubljana.
Detection of non-anthropogenic air pollution research, co-financed by EU and RS is extremely important as it has strong influence to the health of all living beings and speed up climate changes. Although we planed to start in April but were late due technical and weather problems we have been granted with ideal research conditions over Spain and also good conditions over Cyprus. Again we flew together with Domen Grauf as flying in complicated controlled airspaces with number of complicated instruments on board is a full time job for two pilots. In 8 day we flew every day and completed mission with 7+ hours flight from Larnaca to Corfu where strong storm which killed some tourists not so far away, passed over during the night and cleared sky for our last leg back home. Greece is not friendly country for flying light aircraft any more. Most of the airports require PPR (Prior Permission required), most of smaller airports has limited time of operation, some of them are military, complicated un-flexible controllers in TMA Athene airspace. After our PPR in Corfu was rejected we changed destination for LGIO, but were late due very strong headwinds (up to 40 kts) so we diverted to Corfu where they were not very happy. No PPR landing finally cost us 3 times the price from a week ago. But most important is that dr. Griša Močnik and dr. Luka Drinovec have all necessary data from all instruments to finalise research.
